The Innauguration
I watched the inauguration closely, not because it was an assignment, but because I am excited about the start of a new presidency. As I watched, I was struck by a number of historically significant things. I felt a great sense of awe and pride when the first female Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi walked the first African American First Lady through the greeting line. What a radical but over due time in America. I learned that President Obama (that feels good to write) and former President Bush (that feels better), have developed a strong mutual respect for eachother. I also caught a couple of moments on Fox news after Senator Kennedy fell ill and I thought they blew it out of proportion. I suppose this is their job, though it still irritates me. President Obamas speech really gave me perspective on being a citizen as he pointed out the importance, now more than ever, for a sense of responsabilty for everyone. I am excited and proud that we elected Barrack Obama, and I am looking forward to a new era.

I totally agree with you. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the inauguration of our new President (boy, does that ever feel good!!). I am really excited to see how he fixes the former President’s mess!!
I love your opinion on this. It’s nice to see an opinion that’s not compleatly genaric and obviously a repeated quote from some one els. *(however i feel compelled to tell you just so you know for the future you can’t irrate some one. you can be Irrate though. just want to help.)*
I agree with you that the inauguration was a very exciting event. I also watched it not only because it was an assignment but because it was an historical event and I didn’t want to miss it!
I agree with you about the respect towards each president. WHen you saw bush in the audience, you can tell that he respects Obama 100% by his physical expression. I was amazed how many people were in washington DC at the white house. To me it was breathe taking.
I had forgotten about his point during his speak about personel resposibility. That was a good message to try to get across. I thought they gave good face to each other, but I did hear the comments Obama made about the problems in the past and how they were dealt with and that must had stung Bush!
former president bush finally:)
