Amy Jo Swing is a full time English faculty member at Lake Superior College in Duluth, Minnesota where she has taughed since 1996.

She attained her B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Purdue University in 1992 and a M.F.A. in poetry from Texas State University in San Marcos in 1996.

Her writing history includes being a member and board member of Lake Superior Writers and the Duluth Poet Laureate Committee, a member of Academy of American Poets, and a winner of a McKnight Artists Fellowship for Writers. She has published poems in many journals and anthologies and is currently working on a middle grade children’s chapterbook.

In the Spring of 2012, she is working specifically on a sabbatical project to research rubric writing and children’s writing and publishing.
