Election

The first time i can remember having anything to do with an elections was 1992. I had just turned 18 in August and the presidential election was being held in 3 months. There were 3 major candidates running that year. First was Republican George H. W. Bush. For the Democrats it was Bill Clinton. Then the one i voted for H. Ross Perot, Independent. Even though Perot was the smartest guy there you knew he wasn’t going to get elected. There were too many people who said I’m a Republican, or I’m a Democrat, to actually listen to the issues and see what what was going on.

I agree with you on how there are many people out there who have a “fixed” view. By that I mean they either choose democrat or republican candidates their whole life just because their parents are that way. They don’t look at the issues. For example, I personally think the independent candidate Tom Horner should be governor of Minnesota but I know he will not be because Mark Dayton has a HUGE lead against him. I think its unfair.

I agree with you, I think some people get too caught up in choosing candidates on the political party they are involved with, and not really on the issues that they stand for, or believe in.
