Math 2205 - Calculus II

Catalog Description

MATH 2205 Calculus II (5 credits)
The second course in single variable calculus. Topics include
techniques of integration, applications of integration, indeterminate
forms, improper integral, infinite series, analytic geometry, polar
coordinates, and parametric equations. MTC goal areas: (2) Critical
Thinking and (4) Mathematical/Logical Reasoning. (Prerequisites:
MATH2204 or equivalent) (5 hrs lec/0 hrs lab/0 hrs OJT)

Placement Information

The placement test does not apply to this course. The student should have completed Calculus I at the college level. If the student completed Calculus I at the high school level they should contact the instructor of the Calculus II section they wish to enroll.

General Information

Math 2205 (Calc II)  is a course taken by students generally pursuing one of the following goals:

  • The student intends to take Calculus 2 as part of the requirements for a future degree in science or engineering.
  • The student intends to take Differential Equations and/or Calculus III as part of courses needed for a future degree in science or engineering.
