Despite his East Coast upbringing, Erik Tschekunow works hard at blending Midwestern kindness into his otherwise sarcastic disposition. In fact, since relocating to Duluth, he no longer considers Boston the center of the modern world. Boston was, however, where he developed a passion for language (the good and bad kind) and eventually earned his M.F.A. in creative writing (Emerson College). He has also lived in North Carolina, Florida, Arizona, and Wisconsin, but has never felt more at home and less restless than in Duluth.
When he’s not teaching or writing poems, Erik enjoys studying enzyme chemistry (no, seriously), running [down] hills, and helping his son throw a mean breaking ball.
