Amy Jo Swing has lived and learned all over the world—from Alaska to Norway to the mesas of the Southwest. Her formal education includes a B.A. in English and creative writing from Purdue University and an M.F.A. in poetry from Texas State University San Marcos. She’s lived in the Duluth area since 1996 to which she was drawn by the water, trees, and incredibly old rocks. She also began working at Lake Superior College in 1996 where she has tutored, worked as a night librarian, and mostly taught English, literature, and composition classes. Words are her passion, sentences, her crush, and (Anglophile that she is) comma splices her nemesis.
