D2L Brightspace Help for Students

The D2L Brightspace learning management system (LMS) is used by most instructors, it’s up to each instructor to decide how much or little they use the tools in each course.  Your instructors may not have used some of these tools at all.

There are a combination of resources from the Minnesota State D2L Brightspace Support site and D2L Brightspace YouTube Video Channel, as well as handouts and videos I’ve created on this page. If there was a D2L YouTube playlist available, I included that as well as videos for some of the key functions or features.  Some of the tools and features shown in the D2L created materials may not be available for our campus.

Note:  You will need to log into the Minnesota State D2L Brightspace Support site using your StarID@go.minnstate.edu.  These articles are updated as new features are added or changes made to the tool.

The LSC Online Skills course is available for all students to try the D2L Brightspace tools without the pressure of being graded on the activities. You don’t need to complete the course but it will show you how to navigate in D2L, submit assignments, participate in discussions, and complete quizzes. You’ll find the LSC Online Skills course in the My Courses area after you log into D2L Brightspace.
