Note:  You’ll need to log into the Minnesota State D2L Brightspace Support site using your StarID@minnstate.edu.  These articles are updated as new features are added or changes made to the tool.

D2L Recommendations:

    • We anticipate high usage of D2L the first week of the semester. This is a reminder to faculty about ways to avoid slowdowns during peak usage times (9AM-3PM and 7PM-10PM) the first week of classes.
    • Recommendations for Faculty
      • Perform Copy Components and Import/Export processes prior to the first day of class.
      • For large course packages, select only the components and items you expect to use.
      • If copy/import/export must be performed during first week of classes, avoid doing this during peak usage hours of 9AM-3PM and 7PM-10PM.

      • If you have created a “Tip” or “How to” D2L skill video that you would like to share with your LSC peer’s please email a brief description and link to the video.

D2L BrightSpace Resources

D2L Brightspace Community website D2L has created a community website where you can find documentation, discussions, video tutorials, and Brightspace Help.  You can also use the Product Idea Exchange (PIE) to suggest new features to D2L and vote up ones others have created.  Note: To use the D2L Product Ideas Exchange (PIE), you’ll need a D2L Community account to login with. If you don’t have a D2L Community account you can create one by filling out the D2L Registration form. Use your LSC email address to create your account.

D2L Brightspace YouTube Video Channel D2L has created a YouTube channel to help instructors and students use their learning management system (LMS).

Brightspace Webinar list D2L has upcoming webinars on a variety of topics that you can attend for free as well as links to previously recorded webinars.  Even if you can’t attend the webinar on the date or time it’s scheduled for, if you register for it, they’ll send you a link to the recording after it’s been processed.
