Nursing Program Acceptance Process

Effective for January 2015 starting students the process for acceptance into any LSC nursing program has changed.

Students wishing to start the AAS Nursing and  /AAS Advanced Standing LPN Track programs In January 2015  and thereafter must complete an application to the program meeting new specific due dates and new requirements.

Students wishing to start the Practical Nursing Diploma program in August 2015 and thereafter must complete an application to the program and meeting new specific due dates and new requirements.

All students will need to complete an entrance application and TEAS test. Students will then be ranked in combination of their TEAS score and cumulative GPA on the pre-technical courses.

Policy 3.41.1 Nursing Programs Admissions outlines the application process, steps involved and timeline deadlines for applications for fall and spring semesters.

Lake Superior College has three nursing education options for students to choose from: Practical Nursing (40 credit diploma), Nursing and Nursing/Advanced Standing LPN Track (69 credit AAS degree). LSC Nursing Student Handbook

All of LSC’s nursing programs are approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and graduates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN or the NCLEX-LPN Examination
